Dr. Bill Keeton is Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and the American Board of Pain Medicine and has over 35 years of experience in pain management

 

Dr. Keeton received a BS in chemistry from the University of Mississippi and his MD degree from the University of Mississippi Medical School. He completed his residency in anesthesiology at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas and also trained under his good friend and mentor, Dr. Janet Travell who was President John F. Kennedy’s White House Physician. Dr. Keeton was the founder and director of DeKalb Pain Center at DeKalb Medical Center from 1984 until he joined Pain Consultants of Atlanta in August of 2007.

 

Dr. Keeton served in the US Air Force (USAF) as Chief of Anesthesia and Chief of the Pain Clinic which he established at Westover AFB, Massachusetts.

 

Dr. Keeton was chief of anesthesia at DeKalb Medical for 15 years and since 1997 has devoted his time to pain management full time. He is past president of the DeKalb Medical Society and the Greater Atlanta Society of Anesthesiologists.

 

Dr. Keeton is a frequent lecturer on emerging and state-of-the-art pain management.  

 

Dr. Charles L. Clifton, Jr. is Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and has 17 years of experience in pain management at the DeKalb Pain Center.  He combines his pain management practice with an ongoing role at DeKalb Anesthesia Associates, P.A., where he has served as Chief of Anesthesiology and President of the practice since 1995.

 

A native of Albany, GA, Dr. Clifton attended Oxford College of Emory University and then obtained his B.A. degree in Chemistry at Emory.  He continued his education by earning his M.D. at Emory University School of Medicine.  Dr. Clifton completed his internship at the Naval Hospital San Diego, and then served as a Flight Surgeon in the U. S. Navy prior to returning to Emory for his residency in anesthesiology.

 

Dr. Clifton is past-president of the Georgia Society of Anesthesiologists, the Greater Atlanta Society of Anesthesiologists, and the DeKalb Medical Society.  He is past Chief of Staff at DeKalb Medical’s Decatur Campus and currently serves as Chief of Staff at the DeKalb Medical North Decatur campus.

 

Dr. Clifton will be seeing both old patients from his prior DeKalb Pain Center practice and new patients at our new Downtown Decatur location.
